Aloha Speakers,

This coming week I will be presenting an hour and a half convention presentation on Ethical Decision Making and Effective Communication. The more I have researched this subject, the more exciting I have found it to be.

Topics include: what ethics is and is not, handling our biases, how to handle our emotions when making decisions, how to respond when asked to do something unethical, how to disagree with someone respectfully, the five approaches to ethical decision making, and the ethical decision making process.

As a professional speaker and corporate trainer for more than twenty years, I have dealt with ethical issues that I think would be of value to share with the Speakers Association of Hawaii. One of our newest members, Dana Land, has been an entertainer and is now becoming a keynote speaker. She is passionate about the topic of Ethics. Dana and I are looking forward to sharing the platform for our next meeting on September 26th.

The first half of the evening will be an entertaining presentation by Dana entitled Ethics and Morals Can Be Fun with Auntie Sylvia! A Guide to Releasing Your Mind from the Mucky Mire of Life (See an outline of Dana’s presentation below.)

During the second half of the evening, I will be leading an interactive discussion “Ethical Lessons Learned from Twenty Years in the Professional Speaking Business.” I will be encouraging other speakers to share the ethical dilemmas they have encountered.

The goal is to live our lives with honesty and integrity, and to do the right thing at the right time for the right reasons. I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Speakers Association of Hawaii events.

With warmest Aloha,

Annabel Chotzen, President
